Quiltcon 2023 - Atlanta, GA!
After much deliberation and financial torment, I am excited to tell you that I will get to attend this year’s Quiltcon after all! I definitely didn’t expect to be making the drive to Atlanta this coming weekend, but some wonderful angels have helped pave the way for me, and I could not be more grateful. Especially because this promises to be an incredibly inspiring time (even if it’s just a quick weekend!)
QuiltCon 2023 will feature a retrospective exhibit on the work of groundbreaking quilter, Chawne Kimber. From quilts with deep messages to those with impeccable piecing, Chawne’s work is powerful, instantly recognizable, and will stop you in your tracks. Chawne, also this Quiltcon’s featured lecturer, is an African American mathematician and quilter known for expressing her political activism in her quilts. She is an academic dean at a university in a mid-Atlantic state. I can’t wait to soak it all in!
