Introducing Juliet by Siser

Siser is the world leader in heat transfer and adhesive vinyl. So it makes sense that they'd know exactly how to build the right machines for the job. Introducing Juliet - their all new pro-quality cutting machine. Juliet is faster, quieter, and capable of finer detail than any other cutter I've used. Juliet cuts HTV of course, but also SO much more, like paper, fabric, plastic, and more. And they've kept or improved upon all the things you are probably familiar with in the world of cutting machines, including their design software Leonardo.

What do you want - its an Italian company!

Plus you can use Siser materials as well as materials from other brands, with or without a mat in most cases. To help get you started Siser has several in-depth videos on using Leonardo and getting your machine setup, right on their own site and over on Youtube. It's all pretty easy to get a handle on, especially if you are already familiar with modern home cutting machines. But if you need a more hands-on approach, check out my latest tutorial video!

I have to say, I am very impressed by the overall design of Juliet. The software is basic - which I truly enjoy. I just don’t think it needs to be overly complicated anyway. Most of what I need to do design-wise is completed before I get into Leonardo, but it’s very handy that you can make some of those changes in-program if needed. The biggest difference is how you load this machine - from the front! Your origin point is the front left corner, which is kind of opposite most other home machines. This is a reflection of professional machines, and loading from the front (whether it’s a roll of material or a smaller piece) allows you to spot issues, alignment errors, material quantity, etc., as you go. AND you can pause, adjust, and reset your machine mid-cut as well.

There are some really wonderful ways in which you might feel more freedom when using a machine like Juliet (or her doubly-wide partner, Romeo!, which can cut up to 24” wide!) It might take a bit to adapt, but if you;ve already got one foot in the door, you will find it comfy and inviting inside soon enough!

Check out my video and let me know what you think of Juliet. Is Siser coming to your studio any time soon?
